- Studying the Bible through Aramaic Eyes | Twins Biblical Academy | Israel
Studying the Bible through Aramaic Eyes This course invites the student to return the biblical text to its Semitic home. Rather than approaching Scripture through later Greek or Latin abstractions, we read it as a living Aramaic discourse spoken, heard, and embodied within the worldview of the ancient Near East. ← BACK TO ALL COURSES THE LESSONS Meet Your Instructor Andre Moubarak Andre Moubarak is the owner and founder of Twins Tours & Travel Ltd. in Israel. Buy Now Cost Through the language of ܐܪܡܝܐ (Aramaic) , the student learns to perceive meaning not merely as definition, but as movement, relationship, and function . Words are studied according to their triliteral roots, concrete imagery, and cultural logic. Theology emerges organically from language, not imposed upon it. The course trains the eye to see Scripture as the ancients saw it: covenantal rather than contractual, communal rather than individualistic, dynamic rather than static. Idioms, parallelism, oral patterns, and Eastern modes of thought are carefully examined so that familiar passages may speak again with unfamiliar depth. In short, this is not only a language course, it is a reorientation of perception , restoring the Bible’s voice to its original cadence and its message to its native soil. This course discusses some basic considerations that apply to all the holidays. Each of the individual holiday lessons talks about the significance of a holiday, its traditional observances and related customs culture and context in the bible. When Holidays Begin All Jewish holidays begin the evening before the date specified on most calendars. This is because a Jewish "day" begins and ends at sunset, rather than at midnight. If you read the story of creation in Genesis Ch. 1, you will notice that it says, "And there was evening, and there was morning, one day." From this, we infer that a day begins with evening, that is, sunset. Holidays end at nightfall of the date specified on most calendars; that is, at the time when it becomes dark out, about an hour after sunset. The Origins of the Christian Mystical Tradition: From Plato to Denys offers a historically ordered and theologically precise tracing of how Christian mysticism emerged, not as an isolated spiritual phenomenon, but as an organic expression of early Christian theology itself. The book demonstrates that in the Patristic period, dogma and mysticism were not separable disciplines , but two dimensions of the same lived knowledge of God. The Origins of the Christian Mystical Tradition .pdf Download PDF • 1.42MB The Didache (“Teaching”) is one of the earliest Christian writings outside the New Testament, likely late 1st century. It reflects a strongly Semitic, community-shaped faith, emphasizing practice over theory. The text frames life as “the Way of Life and the Way of Death,” calling believers to obedience, repentance, generosity, prayer, fasting, and accountability within the community. Rather than abstract doctrine, the Didache preserves early Jesus-following as a lived way, deeply rooted in Jewish ethical teaching and communal discipleship. You can read it all in the file attached below it is not very long! The Didache .pdf Download PDF • 429KB Voices of the Fathers: Patristics of the Early Church Introduces students to the writings, theology, and spiritual legacy of the early Church Fathers who carried forward the apostolic tradition.
